Celebrate Tāmaki Makaurau and our creative neighbourhoods with a selection of arts projects created by people from Auckland's many communities in collaboration with established artists.

Whānui is a celebration of Tāmaki Makaurau and our creative neighbourhoods.  For 2018 the Whānui theme is creative intergenerational conversations: where older and younger people interact, create, share and learn from each other with five events taking place across the Auckland region.

FREE and filled with life-affirming, interactive, get-in-amongst-it events, Whānui will be popping up near you.

Imagine The Land
Students from Lynfield College and older people from the neighbourhood create hundreds of clay bowls made from local soil. Through the process of making them, stories, memories and perspectives are shared across the generations. The bowls physically represent these interactions and are components of a large floor-based art installation facilitated by artist Ekarasa Doblanovic.
