Exceptional Seattle-based solo artist Mike Hadreas, under the stage name Perfume Genius, is responsible for some of the most electrifyingly original music of our time. His lush and transcendental albums, which straddle high art, chamber pop and opulent goth-glam, are lauded for their beauty, honesty, poetry and poignancy. Hadreas' latest, the acclaimed No Shape, only enhances his stature as a queer icon and pre-eminent indie artist.
Aldous Harding casts a spell over all those before her. An artist of rare calibre and intensity, her unique gothic sound often draws comparisons to Kate Bush. Blazing a trail from small-town Lyttelton towards international fame, Harding's charisma, talent, tenacity and razor-sharp wit has seen her sophomore album, 'Party', capture the imagination of critics and propel her in front of music tastemakers on Later… with Jools Holland, where she shared the same stage as Lorde.
These two artistic kindred spirits, Aldous Harding and Perfume Genius will share the stage together and separately for one momentous and magnificent night only at the Festival Playground, Silo Park.
This is a rain, hail or shine outdoor standing event. Click here to view the Festival Playground Map and click here to view the Festival Playground Music Arena Terms & Conditions.
Harding is her own woman, an arresting vocalist whose mannered deliveries – from chanteuse to jazzy – and intense themes defy obvious influence.
