Power Plant Call Out for Volunteers

Power Plant 450x450 AAFWEB
The Auckland Arts Festival, which runs from 8 – 26 March, has a fantastic opportunity for volunteers for a major outdoor lighting installation event Power Plant at the Auckland Domain.

About Power Plant

Power Plant is a lighting, sound and kinetic outdoor art installation at the Auckland Domain, created by five artists from the UK and sonicsfromscratch from NZ. They specialize in transforming gardens and foliage into magical places of sound and light, mimicking and enhancing the natural environment.

Who are we looking for?

We need responsible and enthusiastic adult volunteers aged 18+ who work alongside the Festival team to keep the audiences moving safely along the illuminated pathways.

You’ll need to be comfortable in the dark, OK on your feet, happy to work outside, confident in giving instructions to the public if necessary and an art appreciator.

You must be able to speak and understand English and if you can speak other languages as well, even better!

Full training is given and Auckland Festival T shirts will be provided.

The dates are Tuesday 7 - Sunday 19 March (no show Monday 13 March).  You will be required for a minimum of four shifts from 7.00pm – 11.30pm and there is a briefing for all volunteers on Tues 7 March at 6pm.

In return you will get:

  • an Auckland Arts Festival T-shirt
  • 4 x free tickets to Power Plant
  • 1 x double pass to choose from, from a selection of other Festival shows
  • an unforgettable experience working in a magical location!
