Auckland Arts Festival 2016 is looking for people who can sing, act or dance or are just passionate about the arts, to take part in an epic semi-staged opera production of John Adams’ NIXON IN CHINA.
WHAT IS NIXON IN CHINA?
Nixon in China is an opera by American composer John Adams, based on the historic account of former US President, Richard Nixon’s visit to China and meeting with Chairman Mao Tse Tung in 1972.
Auckland Arts Festival, in association with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra and New Zealand Opera, are co-producing John Adams’ NIXON IN CHINA as a semi-staged production in the Auckland Town Hall as part of Auckland Arts Festival 2016.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
- Extras/ performers/ actors/ dancers/ singers of mixed ages will play the role of the people of China at the time of Nixon’s visit to China in 1972.
- This is a volunteer role, supporting the core ensemble.
- Some performers may be selected for specialist roles by the Director (Sara Brodie).
YOU MUST:
- Be over 16 years of age
- Be available on the required dates of rehearsal and attend all casting calls and rehearsals
- Be in good health and able to move well
