The Royal New Zealand Ballet’s The Piano: the ballet, a new full-length dance work by Jiří and Otto Budeniček is an exciting opportunity for you and your senior students. Drawing on the rich inspiration of the film The Piano and developed especially for the RNZB, The Piano: the ballet offers students the chance to explore a new New Zealand dance work, inspired by an iconic New Zealand film.

To help your students experience the wonders of live dance, RNZB offers discounted tickets for school groups and dance studios.

School Groups - Years 9-13
Please note that due to the adult content of the story, The Piano: the ballet is not recommended for children under 12 years.
Cost: $15 per student.   $20 for each additional adult.
You’ll need 1 teacher for every 9 students, with a maximum of an additional 5 parents or teachers.
School groups require a minimum of 8 students to be eligible for the discount.

Dance Studio Groups 
Groups of 20+ will receive a 15% discount on both adult and child tickets.

DANCE WORKSHOPS:
Let the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s dance educators inspire your students with dance workshops based on the production of The Piano: the ballet. It will help to develop your students’ understanding of the elements of classical and contemporary ballet. Workshops’ close connection with the curriculum is valuable for teachers, while students enjoy learning some movements and steps from a new production.
